Intermediate Soapmaking Bootcamp - College Park Maryland

Take your soapmaking to the next level: Learn about the wonderful things you can add to your soap! plus create your own custom soap!

If you’ve got the basics of cold process soapmaking down, let’s upgrade your soap!

In this two session bootcamp, you’ll use your already acquired soapmaking skill to blend skin nourishing oils and butters with botanicals like rose petals, and exfoliants like salt to create a new and exciting lathering experience! Then learn you'll learn how all about colorants and several ways to swirl and design soap.

In each session, you will make a loaf of soap weighing about 1 ½ pounds to take with you (with a retail value of over $30 each!)


  • Have a desire to advance your soap making skills
  • You must have taken an introductory soapmaking class. We won’t be covering the basics in this class. If you need an introductory class, please check for my Introduction to Cold Process Soapmaking class.


During this 2-hour class, you will learn:

  • Let’s talk about adding value (upgrading)
  • Botanicals in your soap?
  • Exfoliants
  • The choice is yours
  • Tips and tricks


During this 2-hour class, you will learn:

  • Colorant types
  • Swirls/designs
  • Top texturing
  • Tips and tricks
  • The choice is yours
  • Q&A session (is this just a hobby – great. Or we can talk business)

 This class is a safe space allowing students the opportunity to explore their inner craftsperson extraordinaire in a supervised setting allowing them to leave the class with the confidence to continue to create soap on their own.

*** This studio location is in my home. I do have pet cats. They do not have access to the area where we will be working, but if you have severe cat allergies, you may consider taking one of my offsite classes.

Class Policies:

  • Students must be 18 years of age or older.
  • All students must sign a liability waiver.
  • Wear clothing that you don’t mind possibly staining. Long sleeves, pants and closed toe shoes are required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as directed by the instructor. This includes goggles, dishwashing gloves and an apron. You can bring your own if you would like, but the instructor will have some available to loan to you for the class.
  • Please do not bring non-students to the class. This includes children and/or pets.
